Nancy Ann Rinaldi of Esther Drive, North Providence, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Miriam Hospital in Providence.
She was the beloved mother of Elizabeth and Matthew Metti, both of North Providence. Nancy's children were her greatest joy, as she was to them.
Born in Providence, she is the daughter of Claire F. (Bessette) Rinaldi of DelRay Beach, FL and the late Anthony “Chief” Rinaldi. She had been a lifelong resident of North Providence.
She worked with special needs children as a teacher’s aide at North Providence High School and was a realtor for Century 21, Gonsalves-Pastore Agency. She was an award winning wine maker. Her family enjoyed her cooking, especially pizza, baking and gardening. Known as "Momma Metti", She was at her happiest in her beautiful yard entertaining her friends.
Besides her children she is survived by her sister, Lisa Smith of Boca Raton, FL, her brothers Anthony Rinaldi of DelRay Beach, FL and Joseph Rinaldi of Scituate, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was the companion of Paul Puhacz and former wife of Matthew Metti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial is private. Visitation Thursday from 3-7PM in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Autism Project of Rhode Island, 1516 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
