Beverly: Rose ‘Kay’ (Burns) Deschamps age 84 of Beverly, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Putnam Farm in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Paul H. Deschamps with whom she had shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody and raised in Beverly she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary E. (Brown) Burns. Prior to her marriage to Paul in August of 1949, she was employed by the former Beverly Times. Kay was a member the former St. Alphonsus Parish in Beverly and at one time taught C.C.D for the parish. She was especially devoted to her family and took a special delight in spending time with her grandchildren.
Kay was currently a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Beverly.
She is survived by 2 Sons, Richard P. Deschamps and his wife Denise and Henry P. Deschamps and his wife Gina all of Beverly, 3 daughters, Helena M. Rooney and her husband Richard of Tewksbury, Denise M. Mendalka of Middleton, Anne M. Jauss and her husband David of Beverly, and a brother, John W. Burns of Beverly. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Matthew C. & Dillon Deschamps, Haley & Luke Deschamps, Sean, Jill & Adam Rooney, John & Tammy Mendalka, Brett & Danielle Jauss. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Scully.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 7:45 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly at 9 am.
