Mary V. Dunn (Stapleton) died peacefully at home surrounded by her family May 29, 2009. A resident of Canton for over 50 years Mary worked as a secretary for the Massachusetts Welfare Dept. where she met her husband of 58 years. She also worked for Canton Public Schools, Hart’s Caterers in Randolph and was a “Senior Volunteer” at the Canton Town Hall. She was a member of the Canton Garden Club and the Canton Catholic Women’s Club. Mary was a dedicated Communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton , and taught Religious Education for over 25 years. Beloved wife of James F. Dunn. Devoted mother of James F. Dunn and his wife Susan of Middletown CT, Veronica Doherty and her husband Michael of Mansfield, Susan Tamul and her husband Edward of Norton, Anne Adami and her husband William of New Castle , DE, Mary Dunn of Canton, Joseph Dunn and his wife Carmen of Miami, FL. Sister of James Stapleton of VA, John Stapleton of OH, Agnes Stapleton S.N.D. of Everett, and Agnes Rath of CT. Sister of the late Barbara Orfanello, Theresa Lamb, and Robert Stapleton. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St. Monday 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday in St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St. Canton at 10:00 AM. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the St. Gerard’s Church Religious Education Dept. 1860 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
