Obituary

Evelyn (Haddad) Haddad of West Roxbury, a life-long Bostonian, died Saturday May 30, 2009 at age 91 after a short illness.
Evelyn was born in Boston’s South Cove neighborhood on September 24, 1917. After graduating from Girls High School in Boston she successfully completed a two-year program at the Boston Clerical School. She worked in the Mass. Dept. of Education for 35 years, including many years of service as Executive Assistant to the Mass. Deputy Commissioner of Education. Evelyn was a life-long member of Boston’s Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral. She was an accomplished artist and long-term member of the West Roxbury Art Assoc.
Evelyn was daughter of the late Abraham Haddad and Selma Courie Haddad. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Nicholas Haddad, her sons Nicholas Jr. of Watertown and Edmund of Manchester, NH, grandchildren Corey Haddad, Amanda Haddad, and Julie Haddad, daughter-in-law Susan Flint, siblings Selma Elias, Ludia Talbot, and Henry Haddad, and loving cousins, nephews, nieces and other members of her extended family. She was predeceased by her brothers William and Namey Haddad.
Evelyn's Funeral Service was held Wednesday June 3, 2009 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral 7 V.F.W. Parkway West Roxbury, MA 02132.
Contributions in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral, the German Centre for Extended Care 2222 Centre Street, West Roxbury or the West Roxbury Art Assoc. Scholarship Fund c/o Eileen Donnelly, 95 Stratford St. West Roxbury.
Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
