Obituary

Mrs. Mary (Barsamian) Maimone, age 85, long time Dracut resident, loving and devoted mother, aunt and grandmother passed away Saturday, May 23rd at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA.

Mary was born on May 25, 1922 in Lowell, MA. She was the daughter of the late Sarkis and Okper (Sarabian) Barsamian. Mary was the wife of the late Joseph T. Maimone. She attended Lowell Public Schools, and was a graduate from Lowell High School. Mary worked as a seamstress in the greater Lowell area for many years.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished every minute she spent with them and was proud of their accomplishments.

Mary was an active lifelong member of her church, St. Vartanantz Armenia Church in Chelmsford, MA. She was a member of the ACYOA youth group, sang in the choir and a member of the Ladies Guild. Mary volunteered selflessly to the church, such as providing alterations to the church vestments, cooking for dinners and much more.

In the last few years of Mary’s life, she was cared for by the loving and compassionate staff of Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA.

She is survived by three children, Rachel Peterson, of South Lawrence, Grace Graham and her husband George of Dracut and Mary Barsamian-Daigle and husband Mark of Pelham, NH; five grandchildren, Matthew Peterson of Somerville, Tiffany Gschwind and her husband Jason, Kristen Graham and Katelyn Graham, all of Dracut and Marissa Daigle of Pelham, NH, also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by lifelong friends Elizabeth Schiripo and Ester Paylian. All of whom are proud and fortunate to have had her in their lives and will miss her dearly.

Mary was predeceased by three brothers Charlie Barsamian, Everett Barsamian and Albert Barsamian; and two sisters Maryam Barsamian and Alice Nicholson; one niece Rachel Elliott and one nephew Markie Barsamian.

Her Her Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Monday May 25th, from 4 to 8 pm. Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10:00 am with a funeral service to be held at St Vartanantz Church in Chelmsford at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, donations may be made in her memory to St. Vartanantz Church, 180 Old Westford Rd. Chelmsford,MA. 01824.
