Thelma Leonard Cook, 88, of Springfield, Georgia, widow of John w. Cook died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Effingham Hospital in Springfield, Georgia.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 4 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville.
Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock saturday evening.
Mrs. Cook was born June 19, 1920 in Roanoke, Virginia, a daughter of the late Edmund and Bertha Milton Nagy. She attended schools in Roanoke, Virginia and Washington, DC. She was a member of the AARP. She retired from the Naval Hospital and was a member of Southside Assembly of God in Savannah, Georgia.
Surviving are:
3 sons: Roy L. Sutphin of Savannah, Georgia, Walter D. Sutphin of Rutledge, Tennessee and Thomas I. Sutphin of Cottageville.
6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren
She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers: Garnette Storm, Opal Ayers, Robert Ulrey and John Ulrey
