Sabino "Sam" Marinella - Of Wellesley and West Hyannisport, formerly of Boston. May 28, 2009. Devoted husband of Camille (Killilea) Marinella. Loving father of Karen Marinella of Wellesley and Deborah Hamberg and her husband Kenneth of Boston. Devoted grandfather of Michael Hamberg, Amanda Massey and her husband Douglas, all of Boston. Survived by his brother, Ronald and his wife Elaine of Chelmsford. Brother of the late Frank and John. Uncle of Carl and Craig Marinella and Eileen Dechaves and her husband Peter.
Sam was a graduate of Boston Latin School and Boston University. He joined Arthur Anderson, where he became a partner. He later was the chief executive of a succession of companies - Continental Investment Corporation, Torchmark Financial Services and Liberty Financial Services. His successful career was marked by the philosophy that for a company to be successful, you needed to create a work environment that put people first, and encouraged personal and professional development. He was a friend and mentor to many, and he truly cared about their personal well being and their families. Family, friends and flowers provided him his greatest happiness.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16), WELLESLEY, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
