Port Charlotte, FL. May 24, 2009 Warren Edward, age 93, of Port Charlotte, FL. formerly of Taunton, MA. and Hagerstown, Maryland died on Sunday. Mr. Dexter was born October 30, 1915 in Taunton, MA. to George and Clara (Brown) Dexter. He retired to Punta Gorda, FL. with his wife, Norma in 1987. He was a cadet at Taunton High School and enjoyed baseball and ice hockey. Warren served in WWII in the U.S. Army Signal Corp, head of all communications and radar in California. Upon moving back to MA. he was head of the service department at Allied Appliance Department in Boston. He later moved to Maryland and founded Environmental Air Control, which served companies such as Bureau of Standards & NIH with clean air equipment and rooms. He enjoyed boating and motorcycling and was an active member in yacht clubs both in Maryland and Punta Gorda, FL. Mr. Dexter is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Norma Dexter of Port Charlotte, his daughter, Carol, his son Dennis, 5 grandchiuldren, 7 great-grandchildren and his sister Ruth Murray. He was preceded in death ny his daughter, Shirley Andre and sister Charlotte Grassie. Funeral services will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton, MA. on Friday, May 29th at 12:30pm. Interment is private at the request of the family.
