Mary V. (Gibbons) Burns, 82, of Franklin, died, Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of Raymond F. Burns who died in 1990.
Born in Providence, RI on December 14, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Violet (Tenant) Gibbons.
Mrs. Burns grew up in Providence and graduated from Hope High School.
Mrs. Burns was a resident of Franklin since 1964 and was a homemaker for most of her life.
Survivors include her children; Virginia Hudson of Barnett, VT, Michelle Lewis of Milford, Raymond Burns Jr., of Franklin, Karen Smith of Bellingham, Roberta Maier of Bellingham, Ralph Burns of Medway and Cheryl Marcone of Bellingham, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
She is also survived by five sisters, Pearl Hillson of Pawtucket, RI, Barbara Mulvaney of RI, Joyce Gibbons of Johnston, RI, Rosemarie Armour of Riverview, FL and Doris Evers of Canaan, ME and a brother, Thomas Gibbons of Attleboro.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Donna, two sisters, Eileen Aubee and Claire Toste and a brother, Raymond Gibbons.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Monday, June 1 at 9:15 a.m. from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Church Square in Franklin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 31 from 3 - 7 p.m.
