Obituary

Worcester: Maurice J Raymond 81 of 9 Louise Street died Saturday, July 12, in Radius Healthcare Center 119 Providence Street.

He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Josephine B (Degnis) Raymond; two sisters Martha Gamache of Auburn, and Claire Turgeon of Uxbridge. Three brothers Celestine Raymond, Roland and Dell Charlland and two sisters Maryanne Blaise and Cecile Clouthier all pre-deceased him. He is also survived by nieces and nephews including Dorothy A Lara of Worcester.He was born in Manchester New Hampshire a son of Hector and Celanire (Roy) Raymond and moved to Worcester as a young child. He was educated in Worcester Schools and later served with the Army in World War II. He served in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. Mr. Raymond attained the rank of Corporal.

He later worked many years at The Felters Company in Millbury before retiring in 1987.

Mr. Raymond was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish.

The funeral will be held Tuesday July 15th with a Mass at 11am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.There are no calling hours.The Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home (www.worcesterfuneral.com) 298 Grafton Street is directing arrangements .
