Obituary

Shirley Wray Williams-Cooper, 67, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Deacon James E. Cooper; her mother, Bessie Bond; 2 sons, Ronald Williams and Mark Jackson; 3 daughters, Kimberley Sharp, Angela Love, and Yolanda Partfitt; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of William H. Scott. Shirley was a member and deaconess of Second Baptist Church. She retired as manager for Amvets Thrift Store, and later worked as a personal caregiver.

Funeral services will be held at Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street, Friday, May 29th. There will be a calling hour at 6 pm, immediately followed by a 7 pm Funeral Service. Burial in California will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02110. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester is directing arrangements.
