Alice W. Brett, 79, of Hood Road, Derry, NH died Saturday July 12, 2003 at the Ward Health Center in Windham following a lengthy illness. She was born in Everett, MA on August 6, 1923, a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Hamilton) Owen. She was a resident of Derry for 35 years, formerly living in Somerville, MA. She was a volunteer for Integrated Health Services of Derry for several years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as traveling.
She is survived by one son Richard L. Hasselbar and his wife Jamie of Peoria, AZ, one daughter, Phyllis L. Lord and her husband Luther of Ontario, California, several grandchildren, many great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Walter E. Owen of Loudon, NH, three sisters, Violet Hutchins of Manchester, Dorothy Munroe of Malden, MA, Avis Smith of Derry. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Brett in 1969, one daughter, Gail Sheedy, one brother James Owen and one sister Barbara Pino.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 18th at 10:00am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087, Attn: Sister Janice Turner.
