FT. LAUDERDALE - Howard Joseph Schoeffel, 90, a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Dracut, passed away December 9, 2008 at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was the beloved husband of Stephanie (Ras) Schoeffel.
Howard was born to Delia and John Schoeffel in Holyoke on November 12, 1918. After graduation from Holyoke High School, he attended and graduated from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in Boston.
Howard went to work for the General Electric Company in Taunton and Lynn, and was a traveling auditor for G.E. for many years. He became the Operations Manager for the Hotpoint Division of G.E. in Boston.
Howard was a veteran of World War II, having served from December of 1942 until January 1946 with division headquarters, 9th Division, overseas.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary Belanger, Carol Cantara, Anthony Budge, Michael Budge, three grandnephews, a grandniece, and a great grandnephew.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church , 250 Tyngsboro Rd. in Dracut on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM. Inurnment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery on Boston Rd. in Lowell. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT.
