Cecile D. Roberts 85, of Rhodes Ave. died Saturday in The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Arthur Eldridge Roberts and Rene Laplante. Mrs. Roberts was born in
Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Arthur and Delia (Lachapelle) Trudeau. She was a stitcher for American Tourister and Jacob Finklestein & Sons, retiring in the early 1980's.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by two daughters Denise Rowles and her husband Kevin, of Greenville, and Louise Smith and her husband Gordon, of Woonsocket, a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Laplante of N. Attleboro, a sister-in-law and friend, Ida Trudeau of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Mrs. Roberts was predeceased by two sons, Rene "Joe" Laplante and Roger Laplante.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM, June 6, 2009, in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
