William A. Lawrence Jr., 61, a resident of Lowell for the past 38 years, died Sunday evening at Saints Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Gastonia, North Carolina, he was a son of the late William A. and Molly (Henderson) Lawrence Sr. and was received his education in the Gastonia schools.
Mr. Lawrence was employed as a truck driver for various trucking firms in this area and in Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he was a construction worker in North Carolina. He was associated with the Lowell Association for the Blind.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by two sons, James Lawrence of North Carolina and Tiant Durham of Lowell; a daughter, Erica McDougal of Lowell, four grandchildren, Anthony Durham of Washington, D.C., Myracol and Destin Mastropietro and Diquane Durham all of Lowell; three step sons, Floyd and Willie McDougal of Lowell and David McDougal of New Hampshire; six step daughters, Brenda McDougal of Hudson, MA, Glenda Williams, Carolyn Settles, Nancy McDougal, Rosie McDougal and Tasha McDougal all of Lowell and a longtime everlasting love, Ruby McDougal of Lowell.
Mr. Lawrence was also the brother of the late Helen Lawrence.
LAWRENCE- Relatives and friends may call on Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST. (Rte. 38), LOWELL.
