Elvino Leitao, age 74, of Fall River passed away May 27, 2009. Husband of Leonilde (Couto) Leitao and son of the late Manuel T. and Maria Hortencia (Tavares) Leitao. He was born in Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Azores and was a Fall River resident since 1984. He was a retired landscaper at Hoogendorn Nurseries and a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by: 2 daughters: Carrie Leitao of Fall River and Nelly Biron of FL; 5 siblings: Joao, Lidia and Estrela Leitao all of Canada, Cecilia Raposo of Sao Miguel and Hortencia Leitao of Lisbon; 3 grandchildren: Megan, Samantha and Steven and several nieces and nephews. Father of the late Mario Leitao.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Saturday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 P.M.
