Higdon, Carolyn June, of Louisville passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.
She was the former Carolyn Vertrees and was a former member of St. Clement Catholic Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Higdon; daughter, Mary Briscoe; and great-granddaughter, Brianna Livojevich.
Her family includes her son, Chris Higdon (Lorna); daughters, Donna McCracken ( Mark), Kendra Chancey (Dennis), Debbie Nail (John), Brenda Jarboe (Brian); 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren with two on the way; and one great-great grandson; brothers, Carl, Donald, George, and Andy Vertrees; sisters, Gilberta Burris, Barbara Hicks, Ellen Adinolfi, Liz Hoyland, and Becky Damron.
The funeral service will be 11am Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
Visitation will be Wednesday 1pm-8pm at the funeral home.
