Sister M. Michel (Jacqueline) Sherry, 81, a Sister of Mercy for 62 years, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, after a long illness.
A native of Dover, N.H., she was the daughter of George and Mary (Hennessey) Sherry.
Sister Michel held a B.A. degree in English and an M.A. in counseling from Mt. St. Mary College in Hooksett, N.H. She was a dedicated teacher at Catholic schools in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She taught at St. Mary in Franklin; St. Mary in Dover; Sacred Heart in Lebanon; St. Thomas Aquinas in Derry; and St. Joseph, McDonald, and Mt. St. Mary Day School, all in Manchester. She also taught for many years at St. Ann School in Gloucester, Mass.
Family members include several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, New Hampshire, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 28. At 11 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Sisters of Mercy in Windham.
Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH
