Larry Norman Carter, 68, husband of Kathryn Wells Carter, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Summerville Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2:30 o’clock at Beaufort National Cemetery. Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home from 9 o’clock until 11 o’clock.

Mr. Carter was born June 2, 1940 in Glen Falls, New York, son of the late Joseph Norman Carter and Roberta Mae Oliver Carter. He attended schools in New York. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving for 21 ½ years. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until it closed.
Surviving in addition to his wife are:
3 sons and 1 daughter: Jody James Carter of Summerville, Teresa Jo Carter of Summerville, Thomas Joseph Carter of Ladson and Larry Norman Carter, Jr. of Summerville.
3 grandchildren: James Dillon Carter, Brian Pomperoy and Justin Hulsizer all of Summerville.
1 great granddaughter: Nevaeh Pomperoy of Summerville.
5 sisters and 3 brothers: Sue Brown of Moncks Corner, Nora Shade, Roberta Winchell, Darlene Winchell, Margie Murphy of Texas, Norman Carter, Michael Carter and Darwin Carter all of New York.
He was predeceased by his sister: Barbara Lamb
