John David Rizzotto, Sr., 74, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Sandwich and Brockton, died Monday May 25th in the V.A. Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the former husband of the late Barbara (Lowe) Rizzotto. He was born and brought up in Brockton, son of the late Samuel and Ida (Spaziano)Rizzotto. John was a graduate of Brockton High School and Northeastern University with an Associates degree in Science. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during Korean War; he served his country from 1953-1957, as a flight line mechanic. John was the manager for Fernandes Supermarket in Brockton for over 30 years. He was a member of the K of C and was a rifleman for Cape & Islands Korean War Veteran Chapter One color guards. John was a plane enthusiast and enjoyed building model planes.
He is survived by his children, John Rizzotto, Jr. of Texas, Steven Rizzotto of Plympton, Jane D’Angelo and her husband Paul of Whitman and Maria Grillo and her husband John of East Bridgewater, his grandchildren; Rhiannon, Amber, Marissa D’Angelo and Samantha Grillo, his life long friend Raymond Crealese of Freetown; many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Samuel Rizzotto, Jr.
Graveside services will be held on Friday May 29th at 1:00pm in the Massachusetts V. A. National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling hours omitted by request. Donations may be made in his name to the Veterans Administration JFK Building / Room 1575B Boston, MA 02203 Attention: DAV
