Irene F. Lion, a lifelong resident of Medford died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Sunday, May 24, 2009. She was 79 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on July 31, 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Alene (Braynart) Lion.
Irene was a supervisor for John Hancock for more than 30 years and had been a communicant of St. James Church for most of her life. She loved to travel, especially to Belgium.
She will be sorely missed by her cousins; Susan M. Brann of Everett, Charles and Brett Griffin of Fall River and Ashley Griffin of Everett. She was also the cousin of the late Richard A. Brann.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours were held Wednesday, May 27, from 5 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. For additional information please visit, www.magliozzifuneralhome.com.
