Altagracia (Mejia) Rosario, 79, of New Bedford died July 12, 2003 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Jose Maria Rosario and daughter of the late Antonio Mercedes and Lucia Mejia.
She was born in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic and lived in New York most of her life before moving to New Bedford 3 years ago.
She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church, 280 Elm St. New Bedford.
Survivors include 5 sons, Jose Raymond Rosario, Abel Rosario, and his wife Bethsaida, and Danilo Rosario, and his wife Maribel, all of New York, Emilio Rosario, and his wife Azucena, of Chicago and Johnny Rosario of Washington State; 4 daughters, Gilda Rosario and Juana Jimenez, both of New Bedford, Diega Rosario and Altagracia Castillo, both of New York; 2 brothers, Amado Mejia and Jesus Maria Mejia, both of the Dominican Republic; a sister, Aurora Mejia of New York; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Cruz Mota and sister of the late Carmen Mejia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford, Monday, July 14th at 8 PM. Her family will receive guests on Monday from 7 PM to 8 PM prior to the service.
Her Graveside Service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery.
