Margaret Elizabeth ( Sheehan ) Cunnane, a former resident of Easton, passed away on Thursday May 21, 2009 at The Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was 98 years old and the beloved wife of seventy years to the late Michael “ Mike” Cunnane. Born May 26, 1910 in Brockton, Massachusetts she was a daughter of the late Edward and Celia ( Cruise ) Sheehan. She was educated in Brockton Public Schools and had lived in Easton for forty - five years. Margaret was employed by Stonehill College and worked for many years in the Food Services Department. She was a communicant and a devoted parishioner of Holy Cross Church in South Easton.
Margaret was the loving mother of Patricia Holland - Smith of Clearwater, Florida, Margaret M. “ Peg “ Malpiede of Easton and the late William Cunnane. She was also a sister to the late Terrance Sheehan, James P. Sheehan, Edward W. Sheehan Sr., John F. Sheehan, Mary A. McNamara and Cecelia R. “Sis” Clark. Other survivors include her 8 grandchildren, 11 great – grandchildren, her daughter in law Christine Cunnane and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. in The Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of her soul at 10:30 A.M. in Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, South Easton. The Rev. Richard Segreve officiating. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Easton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2009 from 3 P.M. - 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
