Mr. William F. "Bill" Menslage, 82, of Merrimac, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
He was born and brought up in South Boston, known as a Southie Boy, on February 20th, 1927, to the late George and Anastasia (Walsh) Menslage. Mr. Menslage served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He worked as a Truck Driver for 30 years for the St. Johnsbury Trucking Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts until his retirement. He was responsible for the creation of R.A.F.T. for the teamsters of Local #25.
His second career followed his passion with helping recovering alcoholics and their families. He was an outreach counselor for Spofford Hall in New Hampshire. "Big Bad Bill" as he was known, shared his joy of living with many for over 50 years of sobriety in the fellowship of AA.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Haverhill, MA.
Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Haverhill, MA.
