Eula Stephens Myers, 93, of Tifton died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Zion Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Olin Hamlin will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Grandsons, John Pomerleau, Wesley Bushmire and Jason Rodriguez and great grandsons, Russell Hodnett, Nick Hodnett and Rick Hodnett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eula Daniels Sunday school class of Zion Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Myers was born on July 14, 1915 in Ona, Florida and was the daughter of M. F. Stephens and Maggie Kersey Stephens, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, G. W. Nasworthy and Toney Myers; one daughter, Anita Nasworthy Qualls; two sisters, Lucille Devito and Betty Rich; and three brothers, M. F. Stephens, Jr., J. D. Stephens and Robert Stephens. She had lived in Tifton since 1993 and was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Mrs. Myers is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, June and Henry Hodnett of Tifton; four grandsons, Tim Hodnett and his wife Karen, John Pomerleau, Wesley Bushmire and his wife Amy, and Jason Rodriguez; one granddaughter, Linda Hodnett Perry and her husband Richard; seven great grandchildren, Russell Hodnett and his wife Lisa, Nick Hodnett and his wife Jeannie, Rick Hodnett and his wife Corey, LeAnne Perry Meadows and her husband Randy, Katherine Perry, Dwana Pomerleau and Shelby Bushmire; eight great great grandchildren, Johnathan Hodnett, Zackary Hodnett, Tim Hodnett, Lesley Hodnett, Alexis Hodnett, Wesley Hodnett, Cameron Perry and Andrew Gray; three sisters, Josephine Strickland, Lois Pinkham and Elsie Hayden; and one brother, John Stephens.
