Obituary

ROCHDALE______Lewis D. Lloyd, 72, of 19 Ackley Dr., formerly of 123 Hamilton St., Worcester died Wednesday July 9 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, 20 Worcester Center Blvd., Worcester.

He leaves a son, Terence K. Lloyd of Worcester; a daughter, Debra J. Byrne of Cherry Valley; three sisters, Winona Rondeau and Beverly Sjosten both of Worcester and Gay Richards of Hinsdale, New Hampshire; his longtime companion, Audrey A. Lloyd with whom he made his home; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Pearlmon R. Lloyd and Maude (Laurie) Lloyd Derry and lived most of his life in Worcester and several years in Rochdale.

Mr. Lloyd was an auto painter 30 years for General Motors Corp., in Framingham and retired in 1989.He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean war. He was a member and five time past commander of Grafton Hill Post 323 American Legion and the Marine Corps League.Mr. Lloyd enjoyed golf, fishing, beaches and playing pool. He was educated in Worcester schools.

The funeral will be held on Saturday July 12 at 9:30 a.m. in Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday July 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. Members of Grafton Hill Post 323 will meet at 7 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual.
