Littleton Harris “L. H.” Moore, 88, of Tifton died Monday, May 18, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. Fred Evers will officiate. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri. John Kennedy, Rev. Edsel Pettiford, Bob Evans, Billy Heath, Ronnie Story and Willard Finch will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Moore was born on July 13, 1920 in Hoxie, Arkansas and was the son of Claud Moore and Grace Barnhill Moore, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Jane Brasenell Moore; one daughter, Janie Moore Brewer; and one brother, Ralph Moore. He was retired from the upholstery business and a member of Miner Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri and Northside Baptist Church in Tifton. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps with 32 missions flown over Japan. He was also a Redcoat with the Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
Mr. Moore is survived by a very special friend, Fran McEachern of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Gerry Lyn and Brad Gilliland of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; two grandchildren, Bethany Richards and her husband Curtis, and Geneice Brewer, all of Ty Ty; two great grandchildren, Jayce Richards and Brandon Richards, both of Ty Ty; and three nephews, Curt Moore, Tom Brasenell and Chuck Moore.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
