Obituary

Olga Z. Stapp, 89, Clarksville, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Michael Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Donelson National Cemetery, Dover, TN.. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 12:00 PM until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 27, 1919 in Chicago, Il. daughter of Walter Zlabes and Frances Ausra Zlabes.She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and her husband Edward Willard Stapp. She was a chef at Ft. Campbell Officer's Club. She was a member of Gills Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Guthrie, Ky, and attended Pembroke United Methodist Church Pembroke, Ky.She was in the Business and Womens Club, Federation of Womens Club, she was past president of the Womens Club, past president of the VFW Aux, 101st Airborne Association Aux., Gold Star Wives of American(Organizer of Tuck-a-see chapter and Past President)(vice president of South District) 7 states, Military Widows Club,Rebekahs(Odd Fellows) Past Nobel Grand, American Culinary Federation(Clarksville Chapter), Edelweiss Club(German-American Club) Secretary and on the Board of Directors, St. Bethlehem Country Women's Club(past president), Ajax Senior Citizen Center. She was the Social Secretary and Chef for 24 years at Ft. Campbell Officers Club. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for 35 years at Ft. Campbell and Okinawa, directed the Ft. Campbell Jr. and Sr. Chorus, President of Women of the Chapel at Ft. Campbell(started Western State Hospital Parties), Music Chairman Dept. of KY. Auxiliary , Director American Legion Aux Chorus,
Senior Citizen Chorus.She taught gourmet cooking for seven years at Austin Peay State University. Member of Zebra Wives Club(NCO wives) for over 30 years(past president) Ft. Sheridan, Ft. Campbell and Okinawa, Ft. Campbell Garden Club, member of Gourmet Cooking Club in Clarksville, Red Cross Volunteer(Grey Lady and Staff, member Aids),member of Ikibana(japanese flower arranging class in Okinawa, taught cake decorating at Ft. Campbell, member of American Federation of Government Employees(union)AFGE, member of AARP and ceramic classes. She is survived by one son Ronald Edward Stapp(Juanita) of Dover, two daughters Sharon (John) Lee Kinstrey of Fayetteville, NC, Candace E.(Roger) Bush of Pembroke,Ky, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren three step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren and one step great great grandson.
