
MERIDEN, CT—Mrs. Mary Pearl (Bulger) DiCecco 97, of Meriden, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died Friday May 15, 2009 at the Miller Memorial Community Health Center, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Donald A. DiCecco who died in 1985.
Born in Mexico, Maine October 25, 1911 a daughter of the late Augustine P. and Gertrude S. (Sharky) Bulger, she was raised and educated in Maine, and also lived in Wrentham for several years before moving to Connecticut five years ago.
Mrs. DiCecco was a retired bookkeeper for the former Dante Motors in Franklin where she worked for many years, until her retirement in 1970.
She also served in the United States Army during WW11. She attained the rank of Sgt. In the WAAC, Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps. She was awarded the American Service Medal, the World War 11 Victory Medal, the WAAC Service Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. She was honorably discharged in January 1946.
She was a member of the AARP, and a former member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, and St. Mary’s Church.
She is survived by many local and out of state nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday May 20, at 9:30AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10AM.
Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation with the family at the funeral home will be Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30AM.
