Worcester-Leokadja (Marzewski) Giza, 80, formerly of 3 Suffield Street, died Tuesday, July 8, in Millbury Health Care Center.
Her husband of 39 years, Jan Giza, died in 1984. She leaves two sons, John Giza of Thompson, and Joseph Giza of Spencer; two daughters, Christina Giza of Worcester and Wanda Redden of Grafton; a sister, Maria Krawetkowska of Poland; 7 grandchildren. She was born in Poland, daughter of Peter and Katarzyna (Bania) Marzewski and lived here for many years.
Mrs. Giza was a machine operator for 8 years at Robinson Thread Company, retiring in 1977. She also worked at Talbot Trading Company.
She was a member and daily communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Parish. She enjoyed cooking Polish food, the Boston Red Sox, and was an avid wrestling fan.
The funeral will be Friday, July 11, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street, (www.worcesterfuneral.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, in the funeral home.
