Obituary

Richard A. Noyes, 85, of Salem, NH died Friday May 15th at Andover Manor in Andover, MA.

Dick grew up in Peterborough, NH graduating from Peterborough High School as salutatorian in 1940. He served in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator and Plane Commander flying in the Pacific Theater during WW II.

Dick was a NH State Representative for Salem for 10 years. He was Editor and Publisher for the Salem Observer for 35 years. Dick was a life member of VFW Post #8546 of Salem, NH. He was a member and director of the Robert Schalkenbach Foundation, a member and Past President of the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce and was a recipient of the Bill Brown Award and he was a member and Past President of the Salem Board of Trade. Dick designed and built his own house.

He was predeceased by his wife Marianne (Harris) Noyes and his brother Fred Noyes.

Elizabeth Adams & her fiancé Michael Martini of Nashua, NH

Grandchildren: Kimberly, Katie, Matthew and Carolyn

Stepson: Michael Herrick and his wife Barbara of Salem, NH and their children Joe and Jason

Calling hours will be Mon. May 18th from 4-8 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A Funeral Service will be held Tues. May. 19th at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, NH 03110.
