BAKOS, Charles J. of Winthrop, died on Saturday, May 16th at the age of 85, following a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Christine (Panagiotopoulos) Bakos with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage. Devoted father of Anna of Winthrop, Fr. Iakovos (William) of The Holy Monastery of Simonos Petras, Mt. Athos, Greece and Stephanie Keimig and her husband Michael of Rutland, MA. Loving grandfather of Stephen and William Keimig. Cherished son of the late John and Anna (Fotopoulos) Bakos. Dear brother of Louis Bakos and his wife Pauline of Melrose, Mary Bakos of Everett, the late George Bakos and his wife Freda of Lynn, and Sophie Fay of Everett. He will live on in the hearts of each of us and those who also loved him so much. Charlie was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop Street, WINTHROP, MA, on Wednesday, May 20th at 9:45am, followed by a Funeral Service at the Greek Orthodox Annunciation Cathedral of Boston, corner of Parker and Ruggles Streets, Boston, MA., at 11am. Relatives and friend invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery, Winthrop, MA. Visiting hours Tuesday, May 19th from 5-9 pm.
