Maria Dos Reis, age 92, passed away May 16, 2009. Widow of Alfredo Pacheco and Joao Raposo dos Reis and daughter of the late Joao R. and Maria (DeJesus) Raposo. Born in Santa Barbara de Santa Antonio, Sao Miguel, Azores, she resided in Fall River 33 years. She was a retired housekeeper at the Catholic Memorial Home, a parishioner of St. Michael Church and the Holy Rosary Society.
She is survived by 4 children: Joao Reis and Mariana R. Lourenco, both of Fall River and Maria Auxiliadora R. Baptista and Benvinda R. Faria, both of Swansea;3 sisters: Mariana Cabeceiras and Salome R. Fonseca, both of Fall River and Odilia R. Tavares of Sao Miguel, Azores; 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Fatima R., Eugenio, Joao and Sigisfredo R. Reis and sister of the late Maria R. Oliveira and Manuel, Joao, Francisco, Nicolau, Tobias, Jose and Dimas Raposo.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Tuesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
