Lester J. “Jim” Sommers, 87, of Salem, NH died Tues. May 12th at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, MA.
Jim was born and educated in New York, the son of the late Florence (Duffy) and John Sommers. He served in the US Navy during WW II. Jim lived in Salem for 46 years, previously living in Florida.
Jim was a Carpenter with the Mass. Carpenters Union, Local 111, in Methuen, MA. He previously worked for Volpe Construction in Boston, MA. Jim enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and taking care of his home.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers from the second floor Station B at the Nevins Nursing and Rehab Center in Methuen, MA.
