Jesup- Vida Lee Collins Poole, age 92, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wayne County. She was an avid gardener, loved her family, and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Poole; and two grandsons: Tony Poole and Kevin Beck.
She is survived by two sons: Roger and wife Jo Ann Poole of Jesup and Joey Poole of Jesup; two daughters: Faye and husband Howard Beck of Scottsboro, AL, Jeanine and husband Eddie Driggers of Jesup; ten grandchildren: Lori Carter, Greg Beck, Dale Poole, Amy Hedrick, Brent Beck, Eric Poole, Robert Earl Driggers, Jeremy Beck, Jason Poole, and Jennifer Wheatcraft; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; four sisters: Lawana Moody of Jacksonville, FL, Bernice and husband Elijah Stokley of Opelika, AL, Julia Sutton of Trinity, AL, and Jean James of Brunswick; and a special daughter: Vernelle Aspinwall of Jesup.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 3 p.m. from the Red Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Red Hill Baptist Church.
Active Pallbearers will be Robert Earl Driggers, Jason Poole, Dale Poole, Greg Beck, Brent Beck, and Jeremy Beck.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the nursing staff of Coastal Manor Nursing Home.
