Lynn C. (Plante) Garland, 43, of Harwich formerly of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 9, 2009 at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Born in Dover, New Hampshire on November 15, 1965 she was a loving daughter of Richard J., Sr. and Gloria L. (Edwards) Plante of Mansfield.
Lynn grew up in Mansfield, was educated in Mansfield public schools and was a 1983 graduate of Mansfield High School. She was presently enrolled in EMT training classes.
Lynn had worked for several years as a records keeper for the Dennis Police Department and had formerly worked in record keeping for the Barnstable Police Department as well. She was very proud of her job and was an extremely dedicated employee. Lynn had also worked part time as a hostess for various Cape Cod restaurants.
She had made her home on Cape Cod for over 20 years and was a former Mansfield native. While residing in Mansfield she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Lynn was a free spirited person and will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. An active volunteer at Cape Cod Hospital, Lynn loved animals and will be sadly missed by her two dogs Penny and Simon. Her other interests included walking and dancing and time spent at the beaches of Cape Cod and Florida.
In addition to her loving parents she is survived by her devoted sons M. David Garland of Northampton and Nicholas Garland of Harwich. She was the dear sister of Richard Plante, Jr. and his wife Christine of North Attleboro, Debra Faria and her husband Thomas of Mansfield, Laurie Savini and her husband David of Attleboro, Patricia Cataloni and her husband Steven of Mansfield and Karen Smith and her husband Morgan of Norton. She was the former wife of Michael Garland of Brewster and is also survived by her mother in law Joan Waddie of Cape Cod, many beloved sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and 1 grand niece.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday May 14th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday May 13th from 4-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
