Mr. Edward T. Lane, age 77, of Malden passed away, May 9th, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Camille A. (Guzzetta). Born in Waltham he was the son of the late Thomas and Antoinette (Plouffe) Lane.
Mr. Lane was a United States Army Veteran and honorably served during the Korean War. Following his time in the service Mr. Lane worked for over forty years in the rubber and plastics industry. He worked for twenty years with the Converse Rubber Co in Malden and later worked for the Parker Hanigan Co of Woburn. Mr. Lane was mostly devoted to his family and in his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Lane is survived by his children, Karen Thissell and her husband Frank of Lancaster, Teri McCormack and her husband Joe of Chester, NH, Gail King and her husband Paul of Tewksbury, Debbie Coleman and her husband Evan of OH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Krystin, Jacob, Erica, Joe, Aaron, Angela, Hunter, Abby, Isabel, Max and great grandchildren, Alanna and Riley. He is further survived by his sister, Toni Smith of Norton and is predeceased by his brother, the late John Lane.
His funeral service will be conducted from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 315 Main St., Malden, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
