Augusta, GA – Mr. Edward A. Moody, 91, beloved husband of the late Hildreth Moody entered into rest on Thursday May 7, 2009 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2009 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Reverend Steve Cloud officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Moody was a member of Warren Baptist Church. He served his country in the “A” Battery 214th which was commissioned to be “A” Company 255th Combat Engineers when it was activated during World War II. Mr. Moody was stationed in Africa, Italy, and France for five years before returning to the United States.
Mr. Moody is survived by his two sons, Paul Moody and Robert Moody (Regina); his two daughters, Gloria Cunningham (Joe) and Katherine Haskell (David); his two sisters, Mildred Williamson and Jenelle Adams; his grandchildren, Katherine C. McDonald, Jennifer Cunningham, Christopher Cunningham, Shane Cunningham, Paula Moody, Lorraine H. Pater, Stephanie Haskell, Brandon Moody, Jessica M. Longshore, Crystal Moody, and Rocky Moody; his great-grandchildren, Carson McDonald, Amanda Walden, Brittany Walden, Tripp Furgeison, Brooke Pater, Ashley Pater, Breanna Moody, Hunter Moody, Drew Moody, and Alan Longshore; and Mr. Moody’s special friends, Denny Crowe and Velvet McFalls.
Pallbearers will be Ed Roberts, Chris Roberts, Mike Izlar, Alvin McFalls, Ven McFalls, Alan Williamson, and Andy Williamson.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the “A” Battery 214th and members of Mr. Moody’s Sunday School Class at Warren Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening May 10, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
