WORCESTER___Felix S. Spiewak, 86, of Worcester, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Jessie E. (Gierczak) Spiewak, two sons, Robert E. Spiewak of Worcester and Ronald M. Spiewak of Northborough; two grandchildren, Jeremy K.W. Spiewak and Samantha I.A. Spiewak, both of Northborough; a sister, Sophie T. Pendergast of Worcester and nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester a son of John and Katherine (Banach) Spiewak and lived here all his life.
Mr. Spiewak was a blend mixer 39 years for Worcester Fiber & Batting Co. and retired in 1988. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the European African Middle Eastern theater and the Asiatic-Pacific theater where he took part in the liberation of the Philippines.
Felix was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the St. Mary’s Boosters Club and the Henryk Sienkiewicz Society of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Rose Monahan for the care they gave Felix.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday. May 13 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
