NEW IPSWICH, NH - Geraldine F. "Gerry" Lain, 61, a resident of New Ipswich, NH and Lowell native, died Friday May 8th at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was beloved wife of of Roy H. Lain, to whom she was married for 42 years.
She was born in Lowell on February 8, 1948, and she the daughter of the late James and Mary (Dunn) Lapham. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Lain was employed for many years as an electronic assembler for BAE Systems in Nashua, NH.
In her free time she enjoyed shopping, traveling, and trips to Foxwood Casino.
Gerry volunteered much of her time collecting goods to send to the troops overseas.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Greenville, NH.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ron R. Lain and John A. Lain, both of New Ipswich, NH; a granddaughter, Tiana M. Lain of North Carolina; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and John Rock of Dracut; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Nancy Lapham of North Carolina, James "Chuck" and Dione Lapham of New Boston, NH, and Stephen and Chiyo Lapham of Riverside, CA; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Monday from 4 until 8 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 AM at St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish at St. Therese Church in Dracut.
