Obituary

WORCESTER-Andronika “Niki” (Woulas) Mitsis, of Worcester and Naples, Florida, passed Friday, May 8th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. Her husband Gregory Mitsis, died in 1984. She leaves three sons, Andrew and his wife Deborah Mitsis of West Yarmouth, Charles Mitsis of Hudson, and Paul Mitsis of Trenton, NJ; a daughter, Joanne and her husband Edward Mockler of Worcester; a brother, John Woulas and his wife Rita of Southbridge; three sisters, Helen Tanionos and her husband Charles of Worcester, Mary Woulas of Worcester and Naples, FL, and Dorothy MacDonald and her husband Charles of Nashua, NH; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of Nicholas and Vasiliki (Gianoutsos) Woulas. Mrs. Mitsis was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church in Naples, Florida, the Cathedral’s Senior Citizens, the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. She also had been a volunteer at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 3 and had been a benefactor of the Orthodox Food Pantry.
The funeral is Tuesday, May 12th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 12:30 p.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Building Fund, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01603 or to Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Avenue, Worcester, MA 01606.
