Gertrude (Pelland) Brodeur 98, formerly of Clinton St died Wednesday in the Oakland Grove Health Centre. She was the wife of the late Laurier Laplante, and the late Emile Brodeur. Mrs. Brodeur was born in Quebec, a daughter of the late Aldei and Delima (Brodeur) Pelland. Mrs. Brodeur was a textile worker in many area mills including the former Murray Worsted, retiring in 1965. Mrs. Brodeur was an avid card and bingo player. She is survived by two sons; Robert Laplante of Woonsocket,and Gerald Laplante of Burrillville, two stepdaughters, Jeannette Hamel of FL and Frances McLaughlin of Waterbury CT, nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 463 South Main St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 pm.
