Rocco R. Sarno, 66 of Stoneham, died Thursday after an accident in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, MA.
Born in Somerville, he lived in Stoneham since 1985 and formerly of Somerville. He was the son of the late Eleanor (Spurio) and John Sarno Sr. A graduate from Somerville High School in 1960, Rocco was a Truck Driver with Local 25 until his retirement 10 years ago. He also was a member the Preston Trucking Company Million Mile Club and the Teamsters Local 25 retirees club. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968.
Husband of Louise (Gingola) Sarno. Devoted father of John Rocco Sarno and his wife Maureen of Auburn, Joseph Sarno and his wife Lindsay of Reading, Janice Sarno and her partner Michael of Melrose, Julie Sarno of Stoneham. Cherished son of the late Eleanor (Spurio) and John Sarno Sr. Loving grandfather of Andrew, Jennifer and Michael Sarno, Deanna and Tayla Killoren, Michael Alterio, and Alyssa Sarno. Brother of John Sarno Jr. of Tewksbury, Mary Ann Sarno and her fiancé Bob of Stoneham. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
