Antonio P. Loura, husband of the late Maria L. (Monteiro) Loura, died at Morton Hospital on May 8, 2009, surrounded by his children.
He was 86.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio A. and Maria (Pereira) Loura.
A firefighter for over 20 years in Portugal, Mr. Loura moved to the U.S. in 1967, and was employed by, and retired from Texas Instruments.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include 2 sons, Antonio J. Loura of Cumberland, RI and John D. Loura of Sunnyvale, CA; 4 daughters, Cidalia Faria, Mary Lou Bairos and Zelia Chaves, all of Taunton, and Rosemary Loura–Alves of Lakeville; a brother, Angelo Loura of Taunton; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Jose, Manuel, Joao, Maria, Rosa, Gloria, Emilia, and Anna.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, May 12th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 11th from 4 to 8 p.m.
