Evans, GA - Barbara Buckley Maner, 88, widow of the late Edwin N. Maner Jr., entered into rest on Monday evening, May 4, 2009 at her Brandon Wilde residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. The family will receive friends at Brandon Wilde in Evans, GA at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
Mrs. Maner served on the boards of the Gould Cottage Savannah Home for Girls and the Garden Club of Savannah. She was a member of the Independent Presbyterian Church of Savannah and she was a member of the Society of Colonial Dames of America, Georgia Chapter, a past member of the Junior League of Savannah, a privileged member of the Oglethorpe Club and a member of the Savannah Yacht Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Marian Maner Castillo and husband Dee of Grovetown, GA, two sons; Edwin Gordon Maner and wife Rozlyn of Athens, GA, Thompson Case Maner and wife Melissa of Panama City, FL, five grandchildren; Jay Castillo, Ned Maner, Kenley Maner, Gordon Alan Maner, and Case Maner, five great grand children and a brother Jay S Buckley, Jr. and wife Marge of New London, CT, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Maner was preceded in death by her sister; the late Louise Buckley Fischer.
