Mildred (Hoole) MacAdams a resident of Medford for more than 55 years and beloved wife of the late Percy Lawrence MacAdams, died at her home in Medford on Friday, May 8, 2009.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on October 29, 1914, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Mabel (Hill) Hoole. Mildred was a longtime and active member of the Community Baptist Church in Medford. Mildred enjoyed gardening and baking. She was also an avid tennis and baseball fan.
Mildred was the loving mother of Lawrence and his wife Barbara J. MacAdams of Maine and Florida, Gerald A. and his wife Dorothy MacAdams of North Reading, Kenneth J. MacAdams of Medford and his companion Diane Gray of Malden, and Cheryl L. Higgins Breen and her husband Francis L. Breen of New Hampshire and Florida, six grandchildren; Kirsten, Shannon, Joseph, Sheila, Jaime and Christopher, and ten great-grandchildren. Mildred, the third oldest of nine siblings, is survived by two loving sisters; Gladys Morris of Medford and Barbara Pettee of Winthrop and many caring nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service was celebrated in the Community Baptist Church, 470 Fulton Street, Medford, Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, May 11, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
