Obituary

Andrew Marshall, Jr., the husband of the late Lydwina A. (Sousa) Marshall, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on May 6, 2009.
He was 94.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Andrew and Evangeline (Viera) Marshall.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Mr. Marshall served with the U.S. Army during WW II and was later employed by the Commonwealth of MA DPW for over 32 years, retiring as a working foreman at the age of 65.
Known as “Big Pa” by his great-grandchildren, Mr. Marshall will be remembered as the cornerstone of A. Marshall & Sons Construction and Marshall Brothers Trucking, with which he was involved until the day he died.
An active parishioner of St. Anthony Church, he was a generous supporter of the Sisters of St. Dorothy.
He was also a past member of the Oakland Seniors.
Survivors include 2 sons, Andrew Marshall, III and his wife Peggy, of Taunton and William F. Marshall of Murrieta, CA; a sister, Dolores Ascheiro of Taunton; 3 grandchildren, A. J. Marshall and his wife Kristie, Keith Marshall, and Jamie Cowen and her husband Scott, all of Taunton; 2 great-grandchildren, Josh and Jacob Marshall, both of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Antone Marshall and Rose Sylvia.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Monday, May 11th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 10th from 4 to 8 p.m.
