New Bedford-Edwin Goulart age 86 died Tuesday May 6, 2009 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Inez P. Goulart who died March 30, 2008. Father of David G. Goulart and his wife Ann and Thomas J. Goulart both of New Bedford. Grandfather of Steven T. Goulart of New Bedford and Tara L. Ford and her husband Garrett of Orlando, Florida. Edwin was the great-grandfather of Hayden G. Ford. He was the brother-in-law of Phyllis Arruda and Irene Mello and her husband Adrian both of New Bedford. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ida Abreu.

Mr. Goulart was the son of the late Mary (Ferreira) and Fernando L. Goulart. He was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. He was a machinist at Morse Twist Drill until his retirement. He was a member of the New Creation Prayer Group of Mt. Carmel Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW ll.
Mr. Goulart’s Funeral will be Monday at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. With a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 5-8 P.M.
