New Bedford- Geralda Correia age 80 died Wednesday May 7, 2009 at St. Lukes Hospital after a brief illness. Survivors include her children Fatima Brinco and her husband Antonio, Angelina Alves, Augusto Alves, Maria Rosarinha Couto and her husband Armindo, Antonio Alves and his wife Goretti, and Fernanda Alves, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, Mrs Correia also has several brothers and sisters living in Canada and Portugal.
Mrs. Correia was the daughter of the late Lourdes (Pimantal) and Joao Correia. She was born in R Seca da R Grandi, St. Michael Acores and has lived in New Bedford for the past 22 Yrs.
Mrs Correia’s Funeral will be at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Monday at 8 A.M. With a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 5-8 P.M.
