TEWKSBURY - Conrad C. "Connie" Ravagni, age 78, a retired electrician and resident of Tewksbury for five decades, died Wednesday, May 6, at the Winchester Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Adele R. "Dell" (Raymond) Ravagni, with whom he had celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this past August 6th.
He was born in Arlington, September 18, 1930, a son of the late Corrado and Anna (Innocenti) Ravagni, where he resided until moving to Tewksbury in 1957.
He graduated from Somerville High School, and in 1951 graduated from the Coyne Electrical School.
He served in the Army National Guard, until enlisting into the U.S.A. F. in 1951. He served in the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska, until 1953.
He worked as an industrial electrician for the MITRE Corporation from 1959 until retirement in 1981. Since retirement, his happiest moments have been spent wintering in Florida, where he had developed a new circle of friends.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Coppen's Council, in Tewksbury, and the Greater Lowell, Bishop Delaney Assembly, 4th Degree. He was also a member of the Somerville American Legion, and D. A. V. He was a member of the 1st graduating class of the Tewksbury Police Citizen's Police Academy, and served the Town of Tewksbury as Assistant Wiring Inspector for two years. He devoted his life to his family, and was described by his family as owning a great sense of humor, a love for long conversations, a talent for cooking, and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and socializing with his many close friends.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul C. and Michelle (Gillis) Ravagni of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane A. Ravagni of Nashua, NH, and Jody L. and Paul MacDonald of Winchester, MA; six grandchildren, Matthew, and Nicole Ravagni, Cassie and Olivia Gadbois, Adam Ravagni, and Jenn MacDonald; a brother Dave Keating of N.C.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Marge Raymond of Malden; several nieces and nephews, dear friends and neighbors.
He was also brother of the late Estelle Ferry and Iris Tassy.
His Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Visiting hours Monday 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Donations in his memory to the American Heart Asson., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
